Tourism Pahang KOM Genting Highlands 2026

KOM Genting Highlands is a cyclosportive event for experienced riders, set to tackle the legendary and challenging climbs of Genting Highlands — one of Malaysia's most iconic and demanding ascents.

Participation is capped at 1,000 riders. Registration is open from May until September 2026 exclusively at komgentinghighlands.com or tri-tix.com.



KOM Genting Highlands 2026 is a single distance race of 55KM with 2,457m elevation. The race is divided into Elite and Non-Competitive categories.

Elite Wave — Individual

• Men (23–40 years old)
• Women (18–35 years old)
• Men Junior (16–22 years old)
• Men Masters (41–49 years old)
• Men Veteran (above 50 years old)
• Women Masters (above 36 years old)
• Men Heavyweight — above 90kg (18 years and above)

Elite Wave — Team

Teams of 3 riders. Results based on the combined time of the fastest 2 riders. Minimum 5 teams per gender to activate; otherwise all team riders move to individual categories.

Non-Competitive

Same iconic route but at your own pace. Race time is recorded but not ranked for podium. Available for individuals and teams of 3.

Climb (Fringe Category)

The fastest Climb sub-category (men/women) is open to all individual riders, regardless of age based on their fastest climb time across pre-determined climb sections along the route.

All participants must be at least 16 years old as of 31 December 2026.

Every registered rider receives:

• Race pictures package** (est. 20 photos per rider)
• Insurance for all riders
• Race Medal (for finishers)
• Transport — hotel to start & Festival Village to hotel (official hotel riders only)
• Pasta Party at Resorts World Awana on 25 October

* Only riders completing within the cut-off time receive a Finisher t-shirt; others receive a Commemorative t-shirt.
** Subject to terms and conditions. Room rates are charged separately.

All riders are required to accommodate at the Resorts World Awana, the Tourism Pahang KOM Genting Highlands Official Hotel partner. Riders have the option to share a room with other riders. Accommodation at the Resorts World Awana will include complimentary breakfast, shuttle from the hotel to the start point and shuttle from the Festival Village at the finish line back to the Resorts World Awana.

Riders are permitted to share a room based on room capacity. Room options:

• Superior Deluxe (with 1 breakfast) — up to 2 pax sharing
• Superior Deluxe (with 2 breakfast) — up to 2 pax sharing

Choose your number of nights (1 to 5) at checkout. Add more rooms for larger groups. 

All race packs  are to be collected at the same location as the bike drop at Padang Dataran Bentong carpark on 25 October 2026 between 10.00am to 7.00pm. You may drop off your bike at the same location.

Pack light and you may bring only essential and non-valuable items with you. You can keep these in the dry pouch provided and leave it at the start point. The dry pouch can be collected after your race at the Festival Village.

All participants must:

• Be at least 16 years old as of 31 December 2026
• Be in good medical condition (participants are advised to obtain a doctor's certification)
• Wear a helmet at all times — participants without a helmet will be removed from the event
• Carry photo identification at all times during the race

Bikes allowed: road bikes, mountain bikes, city bikes, cross bikes. Recumbents, disc wheels, tri/aero bars are not permitted. E-bikes are allowed but will not be ranked.

The cut off time is 4.5hrs from flag off. Rider who are unable to arrive at the pre-determined waymarkers within the allocated time will be deemed as unable to meet the overall cut off times and removed from the race.

All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-deferrable.

How do I register?
Registration is at komgentinghighlands.com or tri-tix.com from May until September 2026.

Is there a participation cap?
Yes — 1,000 riders only.

What is the minimum age?
16 years old as of 31 December 2026, regardless of birth month.

Is accommodation mandatory?
Yes. Accommodation is mandatory. However, only riders staying at the official hotel (Resorts World Awana) receive organiser-provided transport to the start line and shuttle back after the race.

Can I share a room?
Yes , you can share your room with another rider or non-rider. 

Can I get a refund?
No. All registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferable.

Can I change my t-shirt size?
Yes, with an admin fee of RM20. All requests must be made before 30 August 2026.

Is the Pasta Party included?
Yes, it is included in your race registration. If you wish to bring a guest or companion, an additional RM90 per person applies.

How is start position determined?
Elite riders will be positioned at the head of the starting pack. All riders will be released in a single flag off at 7.45am

What is the cut-off time?
4.5 hours from flag-off. Riders overtaken by the Race Car (with timer on roof) are declared out of the race.

When will results be published?
Unofficial results at end of race day. Official results on the KOM Genting Highlands website.

Can I collect my prize if I miss the presentation?
Contact the organiser via email within 7 days of the event. No collection permitted 30 days after the event.



SPORTS RULES

These sporting rules (hereinafter the Rules) apply to all participants of KOM Genting Highlands. They are an integral part of the General Terms of Sale mentioned above. In the event of a conflict between the General Terms of Sale, the provisions of the Rules prevail.

THE ROUTE

​

KOM Genting Highlands is a cyclosportive event for experienced riders, set to take place on Monday, 26 October 2026. The race will tackle the legendary and challenging climbs of Genting Highlands, one of Malaysia's most iconic and demanding ascents.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

To take part in the Event, participants must be at least sixteen (16) years old as of 31 December 2026, regardless of birth month, and be in good medical condition. The Organisers are not responsible for the riders medical condition and preparation for KOM Genting Highlands.

ELITE: CONDITIONS FOR RACE PRIZES

​

​Each category must have a minimum of five participants to be activated.
If a gender-specific category in the fringe competition (Climb) does not meet this minimum requirement, the said form of competition will be scrapped.

OFFICIAL JURY – CHONOMETRY – FEEDING POINTS

​

1. Timing will be done using an electronic detection system.
2. The whole route will be timed and will give rise to the final ranking. The ascents previously mentioned will also be timed and give rise to the best climber classification.
3. Snacks and Refreshment stations are set up along the whole route and after the finish line for all the participants.
4. A real-time limit to cross the finish line (from the crossing of the starting line) is defined by the Organiser according to the difficulties of the course, technical constraints, etc. and is fixed at five (5) hours. Any participant exceeding this real limit time, even if crossing the finish line, will be eliminated.
5. Once the end of a race vehicle has passed by, participants must imperatively comply with the traffic regulations of Malaysia, the traffic being allowed to be reopened at any time following the passage of the said vehicle.

TIMING

​

1. All participants will be issued with an electronic chip in their race pack (the chip is attached to the back of the frame number plate), which will be automatically initialised on the start line and will track the conformity of the race at each antenna along the Event’s route and at the finish line.
2. CAUTION: In order to allow the timing chip to function properly it must not be folded or bent. The frame plate must be attached to the bike seat.
3. Participants who do not follow the route defined by the Organiser, who use human and/or material assistance, or who cross the finish line without their “chipped” frame plate will not be recorded as having finished.
4. The electronic detection system has been chosen according to strict reliability requirements. Despite tests conducted by the manufacturers, a very low percentage of cases of non-detection remains. Due to the lack of information resulting from this non-detection, the Organiser may be unable to show the official or real-time for the participant concerned in the ranking. The Organiser cannot be held responsible for this.

2. Entry is on a “first-come, first served” basis and limited.
3. All participants are to ensure that information submitted in the registration form is complete and accurate.
4. The confirmation of participation is ONLY VALID once the payment on the registration fees is confirmed.
5. A confirmation email will be sent after your payment has been confirmed. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 3 weeks of paying for your entry for KOM Genting Highlands 2025, please contact us at [email protected]
6. The confirmation email is a proof of your confirmed registration for KOM Genting Highlands 2025.
7. By confirmation of payment, the participants agreed to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the organizers.
8. All entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE, NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-DEFERRABLE.
9. Organizer reserve the right to share the participants database to Event Sponsor & Partners.
